Adding Web Forms

If you want to collect some information from your website visitors then this is very easy to do within your website admin area.

Firstly goto the page or create a new page where you want the form, once in the editing section of that page click the "Manage Sections" link which is at the top right

Then in the "Add Section" drop down box choose the Form option and click Add

Now in your page sections you will see the new section you have just added called "Form" to edit this form now click on the section name

You will then be taken to the edit section for the form on that page, to start building your form click the "Add Field Button" You will now be presented with the options for your first form field, type the title in of the field and choose the relevant field type for the information you want to collect

At this point its probably a good idea if you have a play around with the different field types to familiarise yourself with them, then when coming to build your form you will know whats best to use and how they work.

Tip - Always Add Email Address Field: You should always add the email address field as one of your form fields, this is so the person completing your form adds their correct email. If you dont capture their email address then the form may not work correctly, its also a good way to reply to them!

Once you have added all of your form fields you then need to edit the settings for the form, this is so you can tell the form what email address the details should be sent to

There are 4/5 sections in the settings that you may want to customise, they are:

  • Email To
This is where you want the results of the form to be sent to, so put your email address in here

  • Email From
This is the email address that the form details are being sent from, as you can see in my example above i have chosen to use the customers email which i put in as a form field, if you dont use this you can type your own email address in the empty box below

  • Email Subject
This is the subject of the email that the form sends to you

  • Success Message
This is the message the user gets after submitting the form

  • Captcha Verification
This is a security verification, it checks that a real human is filling out the form as you can get a lot of SPAM robots that automatically fill out forms like this with spam

Once you have completed your settings click the save button and thats pretty much it, now is a good time to test your form by filling it out yourself and make sure its working correctly.
