Uploading images
Here we will go through the steps to inserting images into your webpages, firstly you need to upload the image/s to your website and from there you can easily insert the images into any of your webpages.
To upload an image goto the media section within your administration area

Once your are there you will see all the media/image options at the top of the page there is a list of all the images your currently have uploaded (this will be empty when you begin) in the example screenshot below you will see that this websites has 10 images already uploaded

If you scroll to the bottom of the page now you will see your upload options, you are provided with 10 browse boxes, this enable you to upload 10 different images at once if you like. You can also see a create folder option, this allows you to create additional folders within the media section if you want to organise your images, generally this is not required unless you are going to upload hundreds of images. You will also see a target folder, this is where the images are going to be uploaded to the default is the media folder unless you have created additional folders as mentioned in previous sentence you will just leave this as it is.

so now if you click on the first browse button it will open a new window where you can browse your pc for your image, the Choose file box will appear as below, now find the image you want to upload this might be somewhere in your "My Documents" folder for example

Once you have found your image highlight it and click the open button, the "Choose file" box will dissapear and you see the image location is filled in on the first browse box, if you want to upload additional images just goto the next browse box and do the same again.
Once you have all your images you now need to click the Upload file(s) button and thats it, your images are now uploaded to your website all you need to do now is insert them into your web pages.

Tips and info about images in websites
- Website images are usually in a jpg or gif format, that means they will have those file extensions (example: mynewimage.gif)
- Image come in different sizes and as a guideline if you see an image that fills majority of the text area then that image is probably about 600 pixels wide, generally you want your images to be approx 250 pixels wide, or if you just want small images then 100pixels is OK
- Images that are taken with digital cameras are usually very large in pixel size (possibly 2500 pixels wide) depending on your camera settings and so these images would be too large for your website, they would need to be altered before uploading to your site. This can be achieved with image editing software like photoshop or similar, if you dont have that kind of software then there are some free websites that let you manipulate images online and then save them back to your PC a good one that we sometimes use is this website: http://snipshot.com/ you can upload your image and resize it (it tells you the pixel size as your doing it) and then save to your pc.
- If you dont have any images yourself then you can buy images fairly cheaply now (from £1 per image) from online photo resources, here are a couple of image websites that you may find useful
